Verbatim announced the launch of an anti-glare downlight with high efficacy and lumen output and a beautiful light distribution for use in areas including offices, conference rooms, retail spaces, foyers, corridors, hotels or restaurants.
The elegant downlight with its innovative and unique “trumpet” reflector shape has been designed by German lighting designer Arne Fiedler in collaboration with Mitsubishi Chemical’s R&D team, and produces low glare lighting (UGR<19)* in accordance with EN 12464-1 making it a very comfortable luminaire for working and living environments.
The precisely curved design of the reflector not only delivers a calm and nearly invisible appearance on the ceiling surface, it also minimises optical loss resulting in an efficacy of up to 110lm/W.
The downlight also incorporates a Mitsubishi Chemical-designed bell-shaped heatsink which provides excellent thermal management by encouraging the heat to dissipate more quickly, justifying its long lifetime of 50,000 hours and extended warranty of five years.
“The low glare and beautiful light distribution make for a superb luminaire that is discrete in the ceiling while providing bright, comfortable light,” said Christian Freese, Product Manager LED Luminaires, Verbatim GmbH. “The special trumpet design delivers a clean, homogenous light distribution of a quality and type normally associated with more upscale and expensive lightsources. Its horizontal illumination produces a beautifully clear circular irradiated area with homogenous illumination while its vertical illumination has a wonderfully clear scallop-like distribution without a secondary beam.”
The new downlight produces a lumen output from 1500 to 3300lm. It also has a wide beam angle of more than 65 degrees, which makes it suitable for general lighting applications. It is IP40 rated, meaning that it is protected against the penetration of insects or other small objects into the luminaire housing, and is flicker free.
The new “trumpet” anti-glare downlight adds to Verbatim’s growing reputation for offering VDU compliant luminaires in compliance with EN 12464-1, including low glare and flicker-free properties. Verbatim extends its existing office range that already includes a series of prismatic panels and ceiling lights.
